LAMAR COUNTY, Mississippi (WDAM) – The Lamar County School District is currently conducting online registration for incoming kindergarten students.
Online registration began on Monday April 4 and will end on Friday April 8.
The prefecture has set up a QR Code to be scanned by parents to be able to register their child. Parents can also visit the school district’s website to register as well.
New families arriving in the district must first create an ActiveParent account and then complete the “New Student” registration. A QR code is available to search for new families that will direct them to a “how-to video on registering new students.”
Current families can use their existing ActiveParent account to complete registration. If you forget your ActiveParent ID, contact the school for assistance.
The LCSD states that all new students must upload a birth certificate, a shot record (Form 121), and two proofs of residency (see the LCSD website for more information).
Current LCSD Pre-K students will complete the “Returning Student” registration using their code which will be sent home on Monday, April 8. Two proofs of residency must be submitted.
From April 11 to 15, schools will contact registered students to visit the school and complete a kindergarten screening questionnaire. The LCSD notes that some children will be screened at their daycares.
The first day of school for LCSD Kindergarten students will be in alphabetical order, with students with the AK surname beginning on July 21 and students with the LZ surname beginning on July 22.
