The Facilities Management Division is seeking a highly qualified Plumber to fill the position of Operations Technician within the Downtown Facilities Management District. The Operations Technician position provides skilled work in the maintenance, installation, modification, and repair of plumbing components related to potable water, wastewater, and septic systems. This position is essential to the maintenance district as it performs a wide range of plumbing related duties including the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and water distribution systems that require the services of plumbing services. a journeyman level plumber.

Representative functions
Performs the installation, maintenance and repair of pipes, fixtures and other related plumbing equipment used for water distribution and sewage disposal in commercial buildings.
Using a variety of tools, test and calibration equipment, applies accepted maintenance, service and repair procedures to maintain or restore the item to proper operating condition.
Checks and maintains assigned facilities, equipment or systems for preventive maintenance and critical operating factors.
Consults with trade specific employees and/or supervisor on special maintenance and repair issues.
Perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of equipment.
Multi-business missions and responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
Performs all other related work as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in a skilled trade performing highly skilled journeyman level work, maintaining, installing, modifying and repairing components of plumbing related to drinking water, waste water and septic systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license as of date of hire.
Will be required to perform mandatory emergency standby service.
Preferences
Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Candidates with knowledge of building maintenance in a multi-trade environment on facilities, buildings and building systems.
The selected candidate must be willing to be dispatched on maintenance calls and assist other skilled trades personnel when needed.

REMARK:
All applicants selected for employment in the Administrative Services Department must pass a criminal background and background check.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. second shift. Hours of work may include weekends, after hours and after hurricanes due to operational requirements.
This position can be assigned to any facilities management location due to project, task or operational requirements.
