The REET certificate will now be valid for life. It was previously valid for three years. REET – 2022 is being renewed. The previously conducted REET was canceled amid reports of paper leaks and cheating.

The Rajasthan government had recently introduced the Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures to Prevent Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill 2022 to prevent paper leaks and cases of cheating in government recruitment examinations.

The recently introduced bill contains strict penalty provisions including imprisonment of up to 10 years and penalties in the form of fines of up to Rs 10 million and seizure/confiscation of property.

According to the bill, anyone associated with the examination, including the examinee, or anyone impersonating, or attempting to disclose the questionnaire, or obtaining the document in an unauthorized manner, or assisting the examinee to public scrutiny in an unauthorized manner shall be punished with imprisonment for five to 10 years and a fine of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 10 crore.
