Instant recap: Penn State football produces stunning numbers in crushing of Kent State (2024)

(This story was updated to add new information).

Penn State football produced some stunning numbers in defeating hapless Kent State Saturday in Beaver Stadium.

Sure enough, the Nittany Lions' covered the huge point spread by defeating the Golden Flashes, who have yet to win in 2024. The Lions won, 56-0, in front of 109,526 on a steamy Beaver Stadium Saturday afternoon, and never truly threatened.

Rather, it was the way in which this victory was constructed. Penn State accumulated a school-record 718 yards of total offense in steadily bludgeoning Kent in every way possible.

They knocked out the Flashes' top two quarterbacks and rarely allowed them to even approach midfield. Kent managed only a mind-numbing 67 yards for an entire day of work.

Here's your instant recap from No. 10 Penn State's victory, its third of the season.
