Nike New Hyperice x Nike Hyperboot - What They Are, Who They're For & How to Use Them (2025)

The new Nike Hyperice x Nike Hyperboot will immediately catch the eye of almost anyone into sneakers. Some may immediately get turned off by the look, but it's safe to say this shoe probably wasn't designed for that particular sneakerhead.

The Nike Hyperboot isn't a casual or style-driven shoe, though the No. 1 sneaker company in the world never makes any product designed to be an eyesore. This is something much more and that partially explains the hefty price tag.

I was genuinely interested in these shoes from a personal and professional standpoint, so I did my research. While I haven’t had an opportunity to try them, I believe I have a pretty good handle on the benefits and suitability for potential consumers.

Here's a breakdown of the Hyperboot, who they're for and how to use them.

The Nike Hyperboot is a Wearable Recovery Device That Happens to Be a Shoe

The Nike Hyperboot is unlike anything in your rotation–unless you work in hi-tech sneaker design. Yes, it’s technically a shoe — but it’s more like a mobile foot therapist wrapped in a high-tech boot. Built in collaboration with Hyperice, these aren’t designed to complement your fit–but there was some effort put in to make it not look like an orthopaedic shoe. Primarily, the Hyperboot is here to prep your body for competition and help it bounce back afterward.

Nike fused their design language with Hyperice’s proven Normatec compression and thermal technology. Inside the boot is a dual-air bladder system that distributes dynamic air compression around the foot and ankle, paired with integrated heating elements that penetrate deep into the muscle tissue. It’s wearable tech that prioritizes performance over aesthetics — though they still manage to look futuristic enough to turn heads.

The Hyperboot is Made For Elite Athletes (Or Anyone Training Like One)

This is not a sneaker for your weekend mall run or casual coffee stroll. The Hyperboot is purpose-built for athletes who take recovery seriously — think pros, semi-pros, or even die-hards training five to six days a week. If you’re on the court, the track, or even the plane hopping from meet to meet, these were made with you in mind.

Sha’Carri Richardson, who was one of the first athletes to test the Hyperboot, puts it plainly: “I was fortunate to be one of the first athletes to test the Hyperboot, and I can honestly say that I was immediately impressed. I felt the difference right away — especially the impact on my training. While wearing the Hyperboot, I am able to start warming up and recovering while still being mobile. This is a huge benefit while traveling and being on the go. As a sprinter, every millisecond matters, so having my feet and ankles already activated truly helps me prepare to perform at my best.”

I have a son playing college basketball and he missed the latter part of his freshman season with an ankle injury. Because of the built-in heating elements (up to 125°F) help loosen stiff joints and soft tissue around the ankle.

Heat increases circulation and can relieve the tightness and stiffness that follow a sprain—especially useful during warm-ups before physical therapy or low-intensity activity.

How To Use Them Without Sitting Still

What separates the Hyperboot from most recovery tools is the mobility. You don’t need to be locked into a massage chair or laid up in bed with your feet elevated. The battery-powered design works whether you’re standing, walking, sitting, or on the go. You get up to 1.5 hours of use on max heat and compression, which is plenty for a full warm-up or cool-down cycle.

You can adjust everything with the buttons on the side of the boot or through the Hyperice app via Bluetooth. You get three levels of compression (50 mmHg, 130 mmHg, 210 mmHg) and three levels of heat (111°F, 118°F, 125°F). So whether you’re trying to slowly warm up on your way to the gym or get a hard reset after a grueling workout, you can tweak it all on the fly.

The Hyperboot is Designed to Be Travel Proof

Nike didn't skimp on practicality.

The Hyperboot is supposedly TSA-approved for carry-on, charges with a USB-C cord, and spot cleans easily. That makes me a little nervous. All we need is to come across that one TSA agent that is doing way too much on a random Wednesday and all this goes out the window.

The Hyperboot comes with a 60-day return policy from Nike and a one-year warranty directly through Hyperice.

They retail for $899, which is steep unless you understand what they are — a pro-level recovery tool masquerading as footwear. If you’re a serious athlete, or just someone who values performance and mobility over flash, they might just be worth it. If the only time you run is if someone is chasing you, you probably don’t need a Hyperboot.

Where To Buy

The Nike Hyperboot is available now at Nike and Hyperice.com. Global availability is expected later this year.
